2012 AWS Summit
Amazon held its 2012 AWS Summit at the Javits Center in NYC on 4/19. This was by far the largest attendance of an AWS event, with a reported 3000 in the crowd and many thousands more watching it live via Amazon's live streaming broacast.
The day kicked off with the Keynote address by Amazon CTO Werner Vogels. In his keynote, Werner spoke of 7 key transformations that are made possible by AWS. As proof point or testimonials to these transformations, Werner invited 4 AWS customers to come up and share their AWS transformation experience.
- Ryan Park, Dir of Operations at Pinterest
- Thomas Burke, Principal Engineer at WaPo Labs (A Washington Post company).
- Jason Stowe, CEO of Cycle Computing.
- Jon Brendsel, VP of Products at PBS.
I had the pleasure of addressing the 7th and final transformation on Werner's list -- Mobile. Watch the full video of Dr. Vogel's speech. The PBS segment starts at 1:09
